We were given the task to either create a wayfinding experience, website experience, or a hybrid experience that included both a mobile app and wayfinding. I chose to design a website because it is the most realistic outcome for the Spring Show at this time. The Spring Show showcases the student work from the graphic design, interior design, and photography departments. Due to the pandemic, the annual show was moved online and may continue to be online in 2021.
The goal for my website design is to equally showcase all of the departments while creating an engaging and easy to navigate experience. I envisioned a playful concept using geometric and organic shapes, and motion within different size squares. The concept represents the confinement of creatives during the pandemic and how they have found ways to express their creativity within their confined spaces.
Promotional Posts
In addition to the website design, I wanted to include two social media posts that would be used to promote the Spring Show. The two motion graphics would be posted on social media sites like Instagram and Facebook. For this design I wanted the posts to relate to the site but not completely give away the types of motion that would be shown.
